MakerBrane lets anyone - kids and adults - design, build, and even sell their own toys and imagined play worlds. Combining digital and physical platforms, MakerBrane mixes online design tools with branded construction systems (Lego, Meccano, littleBits, …), craft or 3D printed parts, allowing for virtually infinite toy invention possibilities. It is all about play and creativity, amazing products that can be shared within the community and beyond.
This is a roll-up-your-sleeves opportunity to develop MakerBrane’s community strategy, and craft original content to tell a coherent, engaging cross-platform story and interact directly with our followers. We're looking at you if you're someone who knows how to use social media not (just) to fire metric-raising clickbait out into the ether but who can actually build an online community. We need someone who can bring both a ton of great new ideas and who has the discipline to execute on his or her plan.
- Own the strategy, planning, execution and ongoing optimization for MakerBrane's community management and social media outreach.
- Define and track goals (KPIs) tying key community/social media metrics and ROI back to core business objectives.
- Optimize SEO and develop relevant SEM strategies to build our overall community.
- Create content (images, video, writing, events) appropriate for specific networks to spread our brand.
- Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about our company, industry and culture.
- Identify and genuinely connect with the relevant influencers.
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences. Explore ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target buyers.
- Make everything possible, adapted and scalable to build and animate an engaged community of MakerBrane fans!
4+ years of work experience in digital marketing in general and preferably in the marketplace space. You can share an exciting portfolio of past campaigns, content, creative projects, showing their impact.
Experience in brand and creative strategy is a strong plus.
Strong budget and project management skills. You’re strategic and tactical—hands on.
Excellent understanding of the interplay offline and online, and between paid, earned and owned channels.
Passion for storytelling through multiple media types, both visual and written - excellent communication in English—written and verbal – is a must.
Ability to imagine and manage online community events and programms.
You have an active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with a command of each network.
The more of these you tick, the more you come close to our perfect candidate (but nobody's perfect, right?). If this job is for you - wherever you are based - send a CV and a quick paragraph about yourself and why you’d want to join our mission.

We know the future is three-dimensional. AR, VR, 3D-printing and all that jazz. At MakerBrane, we're building the future of toys from a software-first (3D) perspective. And we're starting from the widest-installed 3D platform ever: the web browser.
We don’t care much about which university you graduated from. What’s important is if you can demonstrate strong methodical problem-solving skills, you can build unique interactive stuff, and you are as enthusiastic about learning and advancing your dev skills as we are about changing the world of toys.
The more of these you tick, the more you come close to our perfect candidate (but nobody's perfect, right?):
Three.js, A-Frame, Babylon.js or similar
WebGL and GLSL Shaders
Unity or other game engines
Blender or other 3D software
Strong communication skills
Honesty, modesty, and curiosity
