Accountant Job Description
We are looking for a professional Accountant to help us manage our finances in an efficient and strategic way. To be successful in this position you need to be a dedicated team member, a self-starter, and an entrepreneurial and strong relationship builder.
• Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
• Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports requested by management.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Secures financial information by completing database backups.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
• Complies with Lebanese financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Master’s degree or CPA certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in accounting department in big organizations; startup experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Google collaboration tools.
