Job Description – Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Position: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Location: Beirut, Lebanon (In Premises)
Reports to: Co-Founders

Slide it is the region’s first AI-powered Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) platform, reshaping how people and businesses interact with credit. Our mission is to bring smarter, more flexible spending habits to consumers while driving growth for merchants. As a fast scaling fintech startup, technology is at the heart of everything we do.

We are now seeking a hands-on and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead, build, and scale our technology efforts.

Role Overview

The CTO will own all aspects of Slide it’s technology, from onboarding our platform from third-party developers, to coding and testing in the MVP stage, to building scalable systems and teams post-launch.

This is not a purely management role — in our early phase, the CTO must act as a developer, architect, and QA tester. Over time, the role evolves into a strategic leader, innovator, and team builder.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership

• Define and own the overall technology vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Align technology with business and product goals.
• Ensure best practices in coding standards, data security, and architecture.
• Stay ahead of fintech/AI innovations to maintain Slide its competitive edge.

Product Development & Onboarding

• Oversee onboarding of the platform from third-party developers.
• Validate integrations (payments, APIs, KYC, fraud prevention, AI modules).
• Build and test robust infrastructure for payments, subscriptions, and dashboards.
• Manage product rollout across web, app stores, and merchant integrations.

Hands-On Engineering

• Write and review code during early phases.
• Run tests (unit, integration, UAT) and debug live issues.
• Maintain clean documentation and development standards.
• Support smooth handover from external to in-house development.
• Team & Vendor Management
• Build and lead an in-house engineering team as the company grows.
• Manage external vendors, freelancers, and third-party developers.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and agile execution.

Operational & Compliance

• Establish cybersecurity and data protection protocols.
• Implement DevOps practices (CI/CD, agile sprints).
• Ensure compliance with fintech regulations across markets.
• Manage technology budgets, tools, and vendor relationships.

Phased Responsibilities

Before Product Launch (Testing Phase)

• Onboard and validate the platform from external developers.
• Test integrations (payments, KYC, fraud detection).
• Run stress/load tests and offline/online simulations.
• Set up cybersecurity protocols and compliance framework.

During MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

• Code, debug, and ship core BNPL flows: registration, subscription, checkout, merchant dashboard.
• Conduct live testing with partner merchants and early adopters.
• Monitor performance, user adoption, and feedback loops.
• Keep development lean while ensuring product stability.

After Full Product Launch

• Scale infrastructure to support higher transaction volumes.
• Expand features (AI scoring, advanced dashboards, loyalty/rewards, marketplace).
• Build and manage the internal tech team.
• Oversee regional integrations with banks, marketplaces, and merchants.
• Lead long-term innovation strategy, keeping Slide it ahead in fintech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, with experience in fintech or startups preferred.
• Strong expertise in backend/frontend development, APIs, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with payment systems, KYC/AML processes, and security protocols.
• Proven ability to manage third-party developers and vendors.
• Hands-on coding and debugging ability (early stages).
• Strategic leadership with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment.
