The Creative Strategist is the strategic brain of Spark Social’s content engine. You’ll lead the ideation, positioning, messaging, and script writing for every UGC campaign. Your job is to deeply understand the product, market, customer mindset, and sales funnel, then use that knowledge to guide creative decisions.
This role requires more than creativity — it demands marketing depth. You’ll need to know how and why content converts, how Meta ads work, and how to tie storytelling to performance.
You don’t manage timelines or footage — that’s the Creative Director’s job. Your job is to make sure every piece of content starts with the right thinking: clear messaging, emotional insight, sharp angles, and content that sells.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing-Focused Strategic Thinking:
Deeply understand the brand’s product, positioning, funnel, and business goals. Identify key differentiations, emotional triggers, objections, and conversion drivers.
Reverse-engineer high-performing ads to extract proven angles and formats. Understand what drives ROAS, CTR, thumb-stop rate, watch time, and CVR, and apply this to every idea.
2. Messaging & Research: Build clear messaging frameworks for each brand and SKU. Perform review mining, customer research, and competitor analysis to discover messaging insights. Define customer segments and map messaging to different stages in the funnel.
3. Creative Concepting & Angle Hypotheses: Come up with performance-driven content ideas rooted in customer psychology and funnel thinking. Use frameworks like AIDA, PAS, QUEST, problem/solution, testimonial, demo, and founder story. Create angle hypotheses for content testing and ad iteration. Align every concept with a marketing goal: awareness, trust, education, conversion.
4. Script writing & Briefs: Write sharp, natural-sounding, on-brand UGC scripts that sell. Include creative structure, hook options, CTA suggestions, emotional tone, and direction cues. Tailor scripts to the creators’ tone and brand voice.
Collaborate with the Creative Director to ensure seamless execution.
5. AI Fluency & Creative Efficiency:
Use AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity) to brainstorm, refine, and iterate on scripts and ideas.
Build prompt frameworks to extract creative angles, emotional hooks, and messaging direction.
Be resourceful, fast, and creative — AI is your assistant, not your replacement.
6. Performance Marketing Integration: Apply working knowledge of Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram) to every idea.
Understand ad structures, creatives that work in DTC, and creative testing strategies. Use feedback from paid media teams to refine messaging and content direction.
Know how to brief a creative with ad-level KPIs in mind (e.g. “this hook underperformed, we’re testing X next”).
