Job Summary:
As a Junior Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services required for our company’s operations. You will work closely with senior member of the procurement team to learn and execute procurement processes, negotiate with suppliers, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives. Responsibilities:
- Assist in identifying, sourcing, and evaluating potential suppliers
- Maintain supplier relationships and communicate regularly to ensure timely deliveries.
- Assist in conducting supplier performance evaluations
- Assist in the end-to-end the procurement process, from requisition to delivery, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare and issue purchase orders accurately and promptly
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all procurement transactions within the system, with proper allocation only if branches/cost centers apply
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly procurement transaction reports, ensuring data integrity, supporting internal controls, and facilitating monitoring, reconciliation, and management oversight.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Procurement Manager across all procurement activities, as required.
- Participate in cost-saving initiatives and suggest opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and monitoring stock levels
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure timely and efficient inventory replenishment
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date procurement documentation, ensuring proper filing and systematic archiving of all procurement records in line with company policies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and company policies
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance procurement knowledge and skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
- 1-4 years of experience in procurement or related role
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with procurement software and tools is a plus
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
