Expired
SAP Integration Engineer
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement SAP MII, PCo, or PI/PO interfaces connecting PLC systems to SAP ECC or S/4HANA
- Configure OPC UA endpoints on the SAP side and map them to production orders, material master, batch records, and confirmations
- Develop and test IDocs, RFCs, and BAPIs required for shop-floor integration scenarios
- Write ABAP when custom logic inside SAP is needed (minor development, not module-level customization)
- Partner with the PLC team on joint testing — define test data, run integration tests, troubleshoot across the boundary
- Produce interface specifications, data mapping documents, and SAP-side as-built documentation
- Manage the SAP scope boundary with clients — enforce what's in scope per the SOW and flag scope creep early
- Support pre-sales by sizing SAP integration effort accurately during proposal stage
- Travel on-site for critical integration and UAT phases
Must-have:
- 5+ years SAP integration experience, with hands-on MII or PCo (ideally both)
- Proven shop-floor-to-SAP integration projects delivered end-to-end
- ABAP working knowledge (read, debug, write minor custom logic)
- Solid understanding of OPC UA, industrial protocols, and PLC-side data structures — enough to have technical conversations with the PLC team
- Experience with at least one of: IDoc, RFC, BAPI, PI/PO middleware
- Manufacturing or process industry exposure
Nice-to-have:
- SAP ME (Manufacturing Execution) experience
- FMCG vertical (direct SADAFCO relevance)
- S/4HANA exposure
- Prior experience working with Siemens environments specifically
