Job Description
Henkel Levant is looking for a Senior Financial Controller to support the Finance organization in driving strong financial performance, accurate reporting and effective business decision-making.
Reporting to the Business Controller Manager, the Senior Financial Controller is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, management reporting and business partnering across the assigned scope. The role works closely with key Finance and business functions, providing high-quality financial analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting the business in achieving its financial objectives. This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
Support and coordinate the annual budget, LBE and RFC processes for the assigned scope.
- Prepare and consolidate financial forecasts, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to deadlines.
- Review and challenge key assumptions related to sales, volume, pricing, costs and profitability.
- Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to support business decisions.
- Support the Business Controller Manager in consolidating and challenging financial assumptions across the assigned scope.
Financial Performance & P&L Analysis
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial performance, identifying key business drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Monitor actual performance versus budget, forecast and prior year, and provide clear explanations of major variances across dimensions such as country, brand, SKU, customer or channel.
- Conduct price, volume, mix, cost and margin analysis.
- Monitor key cost developments and identify opportunities for improved profitability and cost efficiency.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Follow up on financial performance and ensure agreed actions are properly monitored.
Business Partnering
- Act as a Finance Business Partner to Sales, Marketing and other relevant functions, providing financial insights, challenging assumptions and supporting business decision-making.
- Evaluate commercial initiatives and business opportunities, including promotions, pricing and investments, through financial simulations.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve profitability, cost efficiency and overall financial performance.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business performance, key drivers and challenges, and translate financial analysis into clear and actionable recommendations.
- Support cross-functional initiatives by providing relevant financial analysis and ensuring financial implications are properly considered in decision-making.
Management Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting in line with Henkel requirements, consistently meeting reporting deadlines.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and management reports, ensuring consistent and reliable financial information.
- Support the preparation of financial presentations for management meetings and business reviews.
- Highlight key messages, risks, opportunities and business drivers rather than simply reporting financial figures.
Support to Finance Leadership & Strategic Projects
- Support the Business Controller Manager in financial presentations, management reviews and special projects.
- Provide financial analysis and insights required for business and strategic initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional Finance and business projects, taking ownership of assigned projects and ensuring timely, effective implementation.
- Support the Finance team in continuously improving controlling practices and ways of working
Financial Controls & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Henkel financial policies, controlling standards and internal controls.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
- Identify and escalate financial risks and control issues within the assigned scope.
- Follow up on identified control issues and support the implementation of corrective actions.
Process Improvement, Automation & Digitalization
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and improve processes.
- Reduce manual and repetitive activities through automation and more efficient use of existing systems and tools.
- Improve the accuracy, reliability and efficiency of reporting and analysis processes.
- Explore and utilize digital tools, data analytics and AI where relevant to enhance reporting, analysis, forecasting and day-to-day Finance activities.
- Share and implement best practices to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree, MBA or professional finance qualification (e.g. CMA, CFA) is an advantage.
Professional Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Finance, Controlling, FP&A or a similar role, including demonstrated exposure to business partnering and cross-functional stakeholder management.
- Solid experience in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis.
- Experience in a multinational or FMCG environment is preferred.
- Previous experience in business partnering with Sales, Marketing or other commercial functions is an advantage.
- Experience in process improvement, automation or digitalization is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of P&L and financial performance analysis.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Good data analysis and visualization skills.
- Interest in automation, digital tools and emerging technologies, including AI.
Soft Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial analysis into clear, actionable business insights.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a hands-on, delivery-oriented approach.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic is an advantage.
