Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing excellent customer service to clients. This role is crucial in maintaining the company's cash flow and financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable Management:
Generate and send out invoices to customers.
Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments.
Follow up with customers via phone, email, and mail to ensure timely payment.
Apply customer payments accurately and promptly to the correct accounts.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable records.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to accounts receivable.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Customer Relations:
Address and resolve customer inquiries and disputes regarding invoices.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate smooth collections.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts receivable function.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline billing and collections procedures.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience (3+ years) as an Accounts Receivable Accountant or similar role.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
