Job Description
Summary
We’re seeking an accomplished UX/UI Designer to join our in-house Scrum teams that is responsible for two major applications across to businesses, allowing you to experience many different user personas and enjoy the variety of user journey’s across the two platforms. One platform is a Grant Management System, and the other is our SaaS to help the home building industry.
This role requires a mix of creative talent, communication, technical ability, and passion in order to provide compelling user journeys while helping address challenges to implement the right functionality for the problem.
The role is an integral part of the cross-discipline teams and will work closely with non-technical staff and customers to improve the digital experience for our customers and their users while maintaining our brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the understanding of User Experience in the company, helping people understand what it is and it’s importance.
- Creating user-centred designs by understanding business requirements, and user feedback.
- Creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups in response to customer and business challenges.
- Implementing and maintaining a design system for our systems to help aid consistency and speed development on these platforms.
- Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems and presenting solutions for these to wider teams.
- Gaining and incorporating customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into design to enhance user experience.
- Working with people at all levels to communicate solutions to UX/UI challenges.
- Working as part of the two scrum teams that are responsible for the maintenance of our software
- Conducting UX research, e.g. customer feedback, competitor analysis, analytics, questionnaires, lab studies etc…
Experience and Skills:
Essential
- Have experience as a UX/UI Designer as well as a strong portfolio of related projects
- Leading design sprints to answer problems where participants can sometimes be senior colleagues
- Are proficient in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to work on multiple projects during sprints
- Passion for design and customer experience
- Experience in delivering presentations and using influence skills to shape the right solutions
- Working with Accessibility guidelines to ensure that we create solutions for all
- Knowledge of browser and device issues such as sizes and compatibility issues
- Conducting user experience research and knowledge of design thinking
- Excellent interpersonal skills and is used to communicating with staff at all levels
- Experience of working in a cross functional, agile Scrum team
- Practical experience and knowledge of Design Thinking
Desirable
- HTML and CSS skills
- Experience of working on SaaS projects.
- Working in a Mobile first approach
- Experience of working in multiple cross functional, agile Scrum teams
