About SE Factory

It does so through intensive multi-month bootcamps that train on the hard and soft skills required by companies. SEF runs bootcamps in Full-Stack Web, Full-Stack Data, and UI/UX design. We are seeking an experienced professional to act as main training instructor in the Full Stack Software Engineer bootcamp. This is a leadership position where the instructor will decide on student selection, will oversee their training alongside the various module instructors and will decide on who gets to graduate and to interview with our partner companies.

About UI/UX (UIX) Program

SE Factory's 8-week UI/UX course offers immersive learning in UI/UX design. It encompasses the essentials of UI/UX, from mastering Figma, color psychology, typography to UX heuristics, prototyping and WCAG guidelines. Learners work on projects, transforming wireframes into mockups, and creating responsive interfaces. The course culminates in a final project, enabling students to conduct a thorough UX audit, revamp a website, and create a well-documented case study. Graduates leave equipped with a polished portfolio and market-ready skills in UI/UX design.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior UI/UX Instructor at SE Factory. The instructor will oversee a bootcamp of up to 25 students, handle daily teaching responsibilities, and perform ongoing student assessments. While the position primarily operates in Beirut, Lebanon, it offers some flexibility for remote work.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Cohort Management & Training
    • Lead the student application and selection process, collaborating with the Tech Lead to implement best practices.
    • Prepare and deliver rigorous design review sessions and conduct learning assessments across various modules.
    • Use platforms like Google Classroom for effective course delivery.
  2. Student Evaluation & Support
    • Assess students’ performance against Specific Learning Outcomes, while providing detailed feedback.
    • Lead on Student Evaluation Committee meetings to evaluate individual progress and performance.
    • Offer office hours and timely responses to student inquiries and address their learning needs effectively.
    • Monitor and report on student progress, including skills development, design skills, communication, and overall attitude.
    • Identify high-performing students and those requiring additional support, proposing personalized actions.
  3. Communication & Reporting
    • Maintain clear and prompt communication with Management.
    • Regularly update management on student progress and cohort status.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Design, Product Design, Interaction/Experience Design, or Computer Science with a specialization in design.
  2. Extensive experience in Digital User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design.
  3. At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, supported by a strong portfolio showcasing visual and user experience design projects.
  4. Comprehensive expertise in:
    • Design Crafts (e.g., sketching, modeling, prototyping).
    • Design Practices & Methods (e.g., processes, frameworks, and best practices).
    • Design Research (e.g., user research, external research methodologies, tools, and techniques).
    • Experimentation and Usability Testing.
    • Web development and web technologies.
  5. Solid experience with design systems and their implementation.
  6. Strong storytelling and communication skills.
  7. A solid grasp of business challenges and data-related considerations.
  8. Ability to effectively collaborate with professionals from diverse roles and backgrounds.
  9. Effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
  10. Experience in evaluating and mentoring new hires.
  11. Commitment to the highest standards of academic integrity and excellence.
  12. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts.
