Job Description
Summary:
The Interior Designer is responsible for designing and drafting plans to create or refurbish spaces that reflect the clients' identity and align with management directions. This role requires close collaboration with clients and various project teams to ensure cohesive and aesthetically functional spaces. The Interior Designer will oversee design projects from concept to completion, ensuring all aspects are effectively communicated and executed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and draft detailed design plans for interior spaces, ensuring alignment with client preferences and project requirements.
- Consider interior construction, lighting, and furnishings while creating layouts.
- Stay updated on industry trends, design innovations, and furniture layouts.
- Meet with clients to assess project needs, objectives, and budgets.
- Manage and monitor Zeal’s furniture stock, ensuring availability for onboarding/offboarding tenants and furniture replacement.
- Prepare and present design and branding proposals using realistic 3D visualizations.
- Review and assess contractor and supplier quotations.
- Prepare bills of quantities and executional drawings.
- Specify materials, finishes, and quality standards for design execution.
- Coordinate and oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with design plans.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensuring projects adhere to timelines and budgets.
- Ensure quality control from project initiation to final handover.
- Adhere to legal regulations and building codes in all designs.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and 3D visualization tools such as SketchUp, 3DS Max, Lumion, or similar software.
- Prepare feasibility reports and detailed design proposals.
- Develop and present mood boards and holistic visuals for project concepts.
- Oversee projects from inception to completion, resolving any design-related issues that arise during construction.
- Ensure environmental considerations are factored into project execution.
Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or certification in Interior Design, Architectural Drafting, or a related field
- 0 to 3 years of experience in interior design, furniture planning, or related fields.
- Strong creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to visualize concepts and communicate them effectively.
- Exposure to construction, design execution, and space planning.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, French, and Arabic.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other 3D visualization tools.
- Strong teamwork, initiative, and ability to meet project deadlines.
