Accounting Specialist

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain and update the company chart of accounts as needed.
• Review and reconcile accounts, ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) for internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage payroll and social security and book related entries, including team insurance expenses.
• Ensure compliance with local and international tax laws and regulations.
• Stay up to date with financial regulations and accounting standards, ensuring company practices are compliant.
• Coordinate with private insurance providers for claims and documentation
• Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions
• Handle VAT reporting and compliance
• Maintain organized physical and digital records
• Assist in preparation of intercompany transactions and consolidation entries.
• Manage the preparation of budgets & financial forecasts and monitor variances in actual figures vs budget.
• Maintain a record of fixed assets and book related accounting entries.
• Manage procurement of basic fixed assets (laptops, office equipment, etc)
• Monitor cash flow and prepare required cash position reports on a periodical basis to ensure accurate cash flow forecasting and visibility.
• Assists Project leads in preparing and tracking project revenues, costs, and profitability for each project.
• Act as the primary point of contact with clients for issuing invoices and following up for the timely collection of payments.
• Serve as the main liaison for external financial, compliance, and tax audits in Lebanon, Cyprus, and KSA.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
• Advanced knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks knowledge preferred)
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High standards of confidentiality, reliability, discretion, integrity, and professionalism.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Bilingual (Arabic and English) is a must.
• Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skill.
• 3 to 8 years of experience
