About the role
The core role of an Account Manager (AM) is to handle the most valuable clients.
You manage the account, build strong relationships with our clients, identify challenges or opportunities, and find ways to assist with these challenges and opportunities.
You're responsible for managing and building a strong relationship with large clients that make up the majority of the business' income. Not only do you find ways to address the clients' challenges and opportunities, but you also create and present reports about the clients' progress to key stakeholders.
In a nutshell, Account Managers act as client advocates and work with internal departments to ensure that client needs are understood and satisfied. They may assist with making sales, handling client complaints, collecting and analyzing data, and improving the overall customer experience.
Account Manager Job Description
Hovi looks for the below in a key account manager.
This role is important to us because it helps us keep our most important customers and ideally, find even more opportunities for working together. As our key account manager, you'll play a critical role in client retention and revenue growth.
The position involves:
Working with your named accounts to identify their biggest challenges and opportunities
Assessing the Health Score of your clients and to anticipate upcoming challenges
Discovering news ways and tactics that can help Hovi with those challenges and opportunities
Using both traditional and creative techniques to develop relationships with customer stakeholders (including going to events and trade shows, networking on social media, getting warm introductions, etc.)
Keeping track of your accounts' satisfaction and reporting on their status to the organization
Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
Serving as the internal representatives for your accounts
Coordinate with product executives to deliver tasks and duties on time
Providing progress report to the Account Management Team Lead
Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
To perform in this role, you'll need a combination of these skills and qualifications:
Collaborative, fast-moving, and comfortable with change
Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
Being pragmatic, optimistic & ambitious
Ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
Ability to assess account needs and identify gaps
Leadership experience (bonus points if you have led a cross-functional team)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to build rapport and establish credibility with account stakeholders
