Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations manager with a background in electromechanical engineering to oversee the management of a building community. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all electromechanical systems within the building, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety and security systems. The candidate primary objective will be to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all occupants.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the building facility, including monitoring and managing repairs and maintenance, and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program, including scheduling regular inspections, servicing and replacement of components as necessary.
- Establish and execute emergency response protocols for situations as power outages, equipment failures or natural disasters. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of occupants.
- Prepare and manage the annual operations budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking costs and identifying opportunities for cost optimization without compromising on safety and quality.
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors and suppliers to ensure the availability of necessary resources, negotiate contracts and monitor service-level agreements to meet operational requirements.
- Supervise a team of technicians and maintenance staff, providing guidance, training and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory and repairs.
- Prepare regular reports on operational performance, maintenance metrics and budget utilization for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business management or electromechanical engineering. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in managing operations and maintenance, ideally within a community building or large-scale facility.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety and security systems.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations and safety standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team and coordinate with external stakeholders.
- Excellent problem- solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
