Triple Point is a recently established social enterprise based in London, England. We are developers and managers of innovative projects, strategies, technologies, and networks that turn high-quality action on plastic pollution into impactful business opportunities. We focus on plastic because it deeply relates to climate change, biodiversity loss, our health, and the economy. Every day the average person breathes 7,000-12,000 microplastics. Every week we ingest one credit card worth of plastic. Public opinion has shifted on the issue and leaders in the fight against plastic pollution are being rewarded with 4x the chances to have customers buy, recommend, and trust their brand. We’re partnering with companies, governments, and organizations in often unstable and challenging economic settings to provide financial assurance and visibility for investments in a more livable world.

Triple Point leverages the co-founders’ 20+ years of combined business acumen in the Mediterranean region along with experience working with universities and governments on digital solutions and community engaged action addressing the triple planetary crisis (climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution). We’re merging these worlds to create breakthroughs in cooperation and the materiality of consumption.

We’re looking for a full stack developer who believes in our above mission to join our team. The position is 6 months part time with competitive pay and possibility of extension. If an excellent team member is found, an equity partnership offer in the company may be extended.

Roles:

• Lead the full stack development of a digital platform that supports traceability of material flows through value chains (via blockchain technology, QR code scanning, etc), live visualization of consumer sustainability impact, and consolidation of Triple Points IT tools
• Develop a web-app for incentivizing businesses and consumers to reduce single use plastic outputs
• Develop multi-criteria decision support tools for policy makers, companies, and consumers along with interactive information visuals (e.g. Sanky diagrams) and embed them into the Triple Point digital platform
• Cooperate with the team to brainstorm innovative IT tools for reducing, collecting, and recycling plastic
• Stay informed on the cutting edge of machine learning, AI, and general coding solutions

Skills:

• Proficiency in programming languages: Strong foundation in programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and often a server-side language like Python, Ruby, Java, or .NET and familiar with front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Front-end development: Proficiency in HTML and CSS for creating user interfaces and responsive web design along with proficiency in JavaScript for implementing interactivity, handling events, and manipulating the DOM. Knowledge of front-end frameworks, libraries, and tools like Bootstrap, jQuery, or Sass is highly beneficial.
• Back-end development: Experience with server-side technologies and frameworks. This involves knowledge of server-side programming languages, such as Node.js, Python, Ruby, or PHP, and associated frameworks like Express.js, Django, Ruby on Rails, or Laravel. Adept at building APIs, handling databases (SQL or NoSQL), and managing server environments.
• Database and cache management: Familiarity with database management systems (DBMS) like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis is essential. Proficient in writing efficient database queries, designing database schemas, and understanding data modeling concepts.
• Version control: Proficiency in using version control systems like Git for collaborating with other developers, managing code repositories, and tracking changes effectively.
• Web services and APIs: Experience working with RESTful APIs, understanding how to consume and integrate third-party services, and building APIs for communication between front-end and back-end components.
• Server and hosting environment: Knowledge of server deployment, configuration, and management. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, as well as server management tools like Docker or Kubernetes is beneficial.
•  Problem-solving and debugging: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting issues, debugging code, and implementing efficient solutions. Adept at finding and resolving bugs, optimizing performance, and continuously improving the application.
• Communication and collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration skills to be able to work smoothly with the wider team, understand project requirements, and coordinate with designers, other developers, and stakeholders.
• Adaptability and continuous learning: Full stack development is a rapidly evolving field. Being adaptable to new technologies, frameworks, and tools is essential. A willingness to continuously learn, explore new concepts, and stay updated with industry trends is highly valued.
