Role Overview
The Logistics Operator ensures the seamless management of supply chain and transportation activities for the snail farming and slime extraction operations. This includes coordinating the collection of produce from contracted farms, delivering test samples to laboratories, managing the movement of packaging materials and other supplies, and ensuring timely delivery of finished products. The role involves maintaining detailed records, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards, and optimizing logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collection and Delivery Operations
Coordinate the collection of snails, slime, and other raw materials from contracted farms.
Ensure proper handling and transport to maintain product integrity and minimize damage.
Deliver test samples (e.g., slime, snails, water) to laboratories for microbiological and chemical analysis.
Ensure samples are transported under the correct conditions to preserve their quality.
Organize and execute timely delivery of finished products (e.g., packaged slime, live snails) to clients or distributors.
Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards during transportation.
2. Supply Chain Coordination
Monitor and manage all stages of the supply chain, from raw material collection to final product delivery.
Work with contracted farms to ensure timely readiness of produce and schedule efficient collection routes.
Oversee the movement of packaging materials, feed, and other supplies to support production and operational needs.
Maintain a transportation schedule to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
3. Compliance and Documentation
Ensure all logistics activities comply with European standards for snail farming, slime extraction, and food safety.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of collections, deliveries, and sample movements for traceability.
Manage and organize all required documentation, such as delivery notes, laboratory sample logs, and invoices.
Work closely with quality control teams to verify the readiness of products and samples for transportation.
4. Maintenance of Vehicles and Equipment
Ensure that all vehicles used for transportation are clean, sanitized, and in good operational condition.
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of transportation equipment, such as containers, refrigeration units, or packaging tools.
Record all maintenance and service activities to ensure compliance with operational standards.
5. Incident Management and Problem Resolution
Address delays, product damages, or logistical issues promptly and efficiently.
Work closely with farm managers, laboratory staff, and clients to resolve logistical challenges and ensure smooth operations.
Implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of logistical disruptions.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
Experience in logistics, supply chain operations, or agricultural product transportation preferred.
Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards for agricultural and food transportation
Note: Candidates residing the upper maten area will be considered for the internship.
