Summary:

The Interior Draftsman is responsible for preparing precise technical drawings and documentation that bring interior design concepts to life. In addition to drafting, the role involves regular communication with clients to understand their requirements, present layouts, and make design adjustments accordingly. The Interior Draftsman ensures that design intent is accurately reflected in all technical outputs and that projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for interior layouts, joinery, furniture, ceiling, and flooring designs.
• Translate design concepts and client inputs into technical and construction-ready drawings.
• Participate in client meetings to gather design requirements, explain layouts, and make revisions based on feedback.
• Ensure all drawings comply with building codes, zoning laws, and project specifications.
• Conduct site visits to take measurements, create as-built drawings, and ensure drawing accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and contractors for project alignment.
• Assist in the preparation of shop drawings, material schedules, and drawing packages for submission.
• Provide technical support during the design review, tendering, and construction phases.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all design revisions and approvals.
• Stay updated with trends in interior detailing, material usage, and CAD standards.
• Prepare bills of quantities and executional drawings

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Drafting, Interior Design, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in interior drafting with client-facing experience.
• Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with SketchUp, Revit, and Photoshop is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and interior detailing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, understand their vision, and translate it into technical outputs.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Basic understanding of 3D visualization software is a plus.
